I love Kundalini. It is more than a physical activity, it's an emotional stress reliever and for me, a spirtual practice as well. You do most of your practice with your eyes closed. I like anything where I can get physical movement so I tried Kundalini. After awhile I realized that I came with issues and released them through the practice. I actually leave the class with joy, peace and love in my heart. The practice gradually became a way for me to give thanksgiving to God. As we do the Kriyas, I just lift up my life in gratitude to Him. Kundalini leaves me feeling so alive and energized that it is an awesome experience in more ways than one.
I danced my entire life and left the dance world having been beaten down emotionally and physically. My mother kept trying to get me to try yoga, and finally just to appease her, I popped in one of her videos which happened to be one of Gurmukh's Kundalini videos. The transformation I felt was immediate. I left that first practice bursting with energy...excited to continue on with yoga. I drifted away from my Kundalini practice when I started taking classes in the community because at that time there were no Kundaliini classes offered at the studios where I was studying. I was thrilled when Karla came to All People Yoga to teach Kundalini. I always leave a practicefeeling an interesting mixture of revitalized energy and pervasive calmness. I think the fact that the energy of thesubtle body is emphasized over perfection is a huge draw for me and is a philosophy that I like to transfer into my daily life. Practice Kundalini, learn more about yourself and experiece a richer life!
I would really appreciate the opportunity to process my personal reaction to Kundalini Yoga. I knew by reputation Kundalini is a very "quick acting" Yoga. Nonetheless, I am surprised by the transformation that I feel taking place. I have to admit that my first reaction to KY was positive but not overwhelming. I have spent so much time in Vinyasa classes that feeling refreshedinstead of wrung out at the end of a Yoga class felt somehow wrong. On my way home from class this week I really began to realize that some of the wonderful, positive changes I feel taking place are a resultof my new exposure to KY. Thank you for sharing the gift of KY. Sat Nam, Teresa
I tried to get pregnant for almost 2 years before I started my
Kundalini yoga practice. After one month of semi-regular
practice and meditation on the svadisthana chakra, I was
finally pregnant! I am now convinced that the
mind can work with our bodies in incredibly powerful ways.
Kundalini yoga gave me a way to focus my creative
energies with miraculous results!
